Life offers you thousands of options in life…no matter the category, especially when it comes to food. When entering the grocery store, you are faced with 20 different options of one type of food. Add in all the ‘healthy’ tips you should be following to make it even more challenging. Maybe it’s just me who is extremely indecisive and falls for every single marketing gimmick out there?!? Come on…I know I can’t be the only one!
On top of all the options, you hear a new diet craze every week. ‘Yes, we should be drinking milk every day. No, we shouldn’t eat/drink dairy at all. Avoid all animal products. Eat a whole cow.’ You never know what you will hear next. As you all know… I am all about moderation, doing what works best for you, and trying to make every choice a ‘healthy’ one. I do get overwhelmed with all those choices out there.
One aisle in which you see a huge variety is the dairy aisle. I have been asked this question a lot lately…What is so great about almond milk/soy milk/ coconut milk/ etc., do you get the same benefits as regular milk? Well my friends…I am here to help sort out this question. Let’s pick apart your ‘milk’ section of the grocery store, I can help to decipher all ‘types’ of milk besides cow milk.
Milk is made of fat, calcium, protein, and a few other vitamins and minerals. A glass of milk is calcium packed to help us keep our bones strong. But are all cups created equal? Let’s find out.
So there you have it. Checking out the chart above with help sort out the questions you may have. It all depends on what you are looking for in a class of milk. Taste, calories, fat grams, or watching your wallet. The bottom line is what works best in your diet, budget, and all about your taste buds. I personally enjoy almond milk or skim milk, and I LOVE coconut milk coffee creamer…just a tad but pricey!
What is your favorite…why?
Have a great Friday!!!

This is a great and helpful post! I hear so many different things about what kind of milk to buy and what kind to avoid. The list you made is neat! I
