Do You Eat Real?

Hi Everyone!

It’s been a awhile…how the heck are ya? There has been LOADS of things happening in my life that have kept me super busy…moving into a new house, I have a new roommate…NICK!, and purchasing a new family member….

Meet Henry…Our new 1-year-old beagle!

Yes is he adorable, social, friendly, and loves to play ALL DAY.  He just made himself right at home! We are enjoying him VERY much…except for when he chews on items like my favorite Kate Spade glasses, deodorant, and iPhone charger….but besides that….he is a keeper, he is still a puppy after all!!! ;) I am sure you will hear lots of stories about the adventures on Henry!

So on to the real question…Do you eat REAL?  Today, October 24, is National Food Day.

What is Food Day you ask….It is a national celebration of and the movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food culminating in a day of action on this date every year.  Food day is created by the non-profit Center for Science in the Public Interest.  It is driven by food movement leaders and citizens to bring us closer to a food system with “real” food.

So what is REAL food? In my eyes, real food is food.  Not food like substance.  It is food that is produced with care for the environment, healthy animals, fresh produce, and not made in a plant or comes in a box.  (with exceptions).  We all know what happens to our bodies when we start to not eat REAL.  So the question remains…How REAL do you eat.  Take the quiz here!

My score on the test was a B…I still have a LOT to learn but not too bad of a score…There is always room for improvement! Sometimes it is easy to get wrapped up in buying processed foods, boxed foods, and yes even the candy aisle during Halloween.  But that is life, we have to try to remember the importance of eating REAL food and consequences of not! We have to make healthy choices everyday, soon choices will become our habits.

QUESTION: Do you eat REAL, what is your score?
